Twilight

Twilight is one of my favorite story series in America. I start reading by Japanese-translated book, but now, I am reading by English, because Japanese translated version is not published yet.
Isabella Swan has always been a little bit different. Never one to run with the crowd, Bella never cared about fitting in with the trendy, plastic girls at her Phoenix, Arizona high school. When her mother remarried and Bella chooses to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she didn't expect much of anything to change. But things do change when she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen. For Edward is nothing like any boy she's ever met. He's nothing like anyone she's ever met, period. He's intelligent and witty, and he seems to see straight into her soul. In no time at all, they are swept up in a passionate and decidedly unorthodox romance - unorthodox because Edward really isn't like the other boys. He can run faster than a mountain lion. He can stop a moving car with his bare hands. Oh, and he hasn't aged since 1918. Like all vampires, he's immortal. That's right - vampire. But he doesn't have fangs - that's just in the movies. And he doesn't drink human blood, though Edward and his family are unique among vampires in that lifestyle choice. To Edward, Bella is that thing he has waited 90 years for - a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. Somehow or other, they will have to manage their unmanageable love. But when unexpected visitors come to town and realize that there is a human among them Edward must fight to save Bella? A modern, visual, and visceral Romeo and Juliet story of the ultimate forbidden love affair - between vampire and mortal.
I like Edward because he is cool!! lol
I hope my reading skill get better by continue reading this series.

Swine Flu

In late April, swine flu was suddenly all over the news. The illness spread from Mexico, where some people died.
But outside of Mexico, people who got the illness didn't get very sick. Mostly, they just had a fever, sore throat, and body aches, similar to the symptoms of the seasonal flu.
That led health officials to change how they're handling the swine flu. People should still wash their hands and sick people should stay home from school and work. But even if someone at a school has a confirmed case of swine flu, the school should not close. There's no need to, health experts now say.
If someone gets swine flu, antiviral medicine can help the person get better. The flu is a virus so the medicine is called anti-viral. A virus is a germ
, as you probably know, and germs are too small to be seen.

Swine = Pigs
Did you know that swine is another name for pigs? The swine flu gets its name because pigs carry this kind of flu. This virus is also known as Influenza A (H1N1). You can get this kind of flu from pigs, but it also can be passed from person to person when someone coughs or sneezes. That's why hand washing is important and why it's good to sneeze or cough into your elbow (or a tissue) instead of your hands.
Swine flu is not the same as the seasonal flu
, which usually affects people in the fall and winter. Because it's different, the seasonal flu shots that a lot of people get probably won't help with swine flu.
But researchers are working to develop a vaccine for the H1N1 virus. Why? Because this virus is new and we probably haven't seen the last of it. It could resurface in the fall and winter and could make people sicker than it did this spring.

** What You Can Do **
You might wonder what you should do - both now and later if H1N1 becomes a more serious concern. Most of us only need to take everyday measures to try to avoid getting sick. They are:
Wash your hands frequently, especially before eating.
Try to avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. That's how germs get in.
Don't drink out of the same cup or share utensils (forks, spoons) with other people.
Avoid people who are sick (coughing, fever etc.).

Vocaloid

Vocaloid is a singing synthesizer application software developed by the Yamaha Corporation that enables users to synthesize singing by just typing in lyrics and melody.
Yamaha Corporation has developed new software that allows song writers to generate authentic-sounding singing on their PCs by simply inputting the words and notes of their compositions.
In January 2007, Yamaha announced a new version of the software engine, Vocaloid2, with various major improvements in usability and synthesis quality. Zero-G and others announced products powered by the new software engine in early 2007. PowerFX released the first Vocaloid2 package in June 2007, an English product named Sweet Ann. This was shortly followed in August 2007, when Crypton released Hatsune Miku, the first in a series of Japanese Vocaloid 2 character voices. The second package Kagamine Rin/Len was released on December 27, 2007 and the updated edition "act2" was released in July 2008. The first Vocaloid 2 product from Zero-G, Vocaloid Prima, an English classical voice, was finally released on January 14, 2008 in the UK and February 22, 2008 in Japan. It was originally scheduled for release in spring 2007. The third Vocaloid 2 product from Crypton, Megurine Luka, went on sale on January 30, 2009, she is the second bi-lingual Vocaloid product, but the first one to be capable of singing in both Japanese and English.
My favorite vocaloid character is absolutely Miku, picture on the top. Hatsune Miku is a 16-year-old girl with long green pigtails and a voice with a range no human could ever hope to match. She is a virtual singer with a computer-synthesized voice, a work by creators who met on the Internet. Many of the songs she sang have proven to be so appealing that the music industry cannot ignore her. She has developed into a singer with a large worldwide following. My favorite "song maker" is ryo/supercell. He create many cool songs of Miku. His famous songs are "Melt", "World is mine", "Black Rock Shooter", "Hajimete no koi ga owaru toki" etc.
My another favorite "song maker" is Aku no P. Her famous songs are: "Aku no Meshi Tsukai" and "Aku no musume". Maybe Aku no P like to use Kagamine Rin and Ren for her siong.
If you have time, you should go to Nico Nico Douga and search these songs!! You will love these!! Access here: http://www.nicovideo.jp/ Really! Its fun to watch!
Oh, I forgot to explain Japanese Vocaloid Characters.
There are: (year order)
Gakupo Kamui (Boy)
Meiko (Girl)
Kaito (Boy)
Ruka Megurine (Girl)
Miku Hatsune (Girl)
Rin Kagamine (Girl)
Ren Kagamine (Boy)

My Old School

Before I came here, I was living in Las Vegas, Nevada. My family still lives in Las Vegas, and my sister is going to my old school, Sig Rogich Middle School. I go this school because this school was the nearest middle school from my house. I attend all classes without absent for three years, 6th grade through 8th grade. But I missed one field trip to Knott's Berry Farm in California, because of my entrance exam of my present school, Keio NY. The motto of my old middle school is "Home of the Rough Riders" I want to visit my middle school during summer vacation.

I came to U.S. when I was 5th grade girl. And my first American school is E.W.Staton Elementary school. I learned most English from/during this school. My teacher was very nice and always helped me a lot. First summer in Las Vegas, this school's ESL teacher teach me many English grammars and pronunciations every day. Last year, before I came Keio NY, I met my teacher, and I'm surprised that I could speak English like my teacher. I want to see her soon.

Now I'm a student of Keio NY. Almost all tsudent in here are Japanese. I like this school, but I have to be careful not to loose my English level by speaking Japanese every day life.

Weekend of Keio NY Student

Weekend for Keio students is one of the most enjoyable days during Keio school life. Students can refresh their stress they get from tough school days and club activities.

These are some of the primary rules that you have to follow in order to survive during weekend.
There are many more rules other than listed below:
1) 9th and 10th graders can not go outside if White Plains without parents and permission slip. (No Manhattan)
2) You have to sign in and out to go off campus.
3) You have to come back by 7pm.
4) 11th graders can go outside of White Plains, but they still need permission slip.
5) You can sleep over in commuters’ house with permission slip.
If you BREAK these rules, you will get punished by getting “Checks” or “Penalties”.

WHERE CAN YOU GO (9TH and 10TH)-
-Westchester Mall
-Galleria Mall
-Daido
-Target
-Walmart
You can go anywhere in the White Plains.
GOOD THING
There are many good things to spend time with dormitory students during weekend. If you use time wisely, you can have fun and also can study. Some people sleep more than week days, which is very good to rest. Many girls like to go shopping every week to get new clothes, and many boys stay in their rooms and play computer games. Those are also can count as a good, fun thing, too. By living in the same dorm, you and your friends can teach each other and study together. I think that is great thing to improve. Weekends are very good for Keio students.

BAD THING
Some people cannot use their time wisely, and struggle finishing homework on the Sunday night. Some people play games or off campus even they are not finishing their homework. Another thing that student in the dormitory make mistake by using too much money. I think you can use money for your prize, but not too much. Even taxi cost a lot, so you should make plan before you buy things. By caring about these things, weekend of Keio dormitory students will be fun and very good to rest.

I'm Alive! by BECCA

In my school, we are studying about poetry. And there was one cool project last week. It was to explain your English favorite song by explaining elements of poetry in my song. I don't really listen to English song, but I found one in my I-pod. The title is "I'm ALIVE!". It was the ending theme song of anime called "Kuroshitsuji", so if you are interested , you should watch these anime on veoh or youtube. This is the lyric of this song.

I’m ALIVE!

Nothing I say comes out right

I can’t love without a fight

No one ever knows my name

When I pray for sun, it rains

I’m so sick of wasting time

But nothing’s moving in my mind

Inspiration can’t be found

I get up and fall but

I’m ALIVE!, I’m ALIVE! oh yeah

Between the good and bad’s

Where you’ll find me

Reaching for heaven

I will fight

And I’ll sleep when I die

I’ll live my life I’m ALIVE!

Every lover breaks my heart

And I know it from the start

Still I end up in a mess

Every time I second guess

All my friends just run away

When I’m having a bad day

I would rather stay in bed but I know there’s a reason

I’m ALIVE!, I’m ALIVE! oh yeah

Between the good and bad’s

Where you’ll find me

Reaching for heaven

I will fight

And I’ll sleep when I die

I’ll live my life I’m ALIVE!

When I’m bored to death at home

When he won’t pick up the phone

When I’m stuck in second place

Those regrets I can’t erase

Only I can change the end

Of the movie in my head

There’s no time for misery

I won’t feel sorry for me

I’m ALIVE!, I’m ALIVE! oh yeah

Between the good and bad’s

Where you’ll find me

Reaching for heaven

I will fightAnd I’ll sleep when I die

I’ll live my life

I’m ALIVE!, I’m ALIVE! oh yeah

Between the good and bad’s

Where you’ll find me

Reaching for heaven

I will fight

And I’ll sleep when I die

I’ll live my hard life..

I’ll live my life I’m ALIVE!
She is using many elements of poetry in her song. For example, this is lyrics of song, so it has rhythm. She also used many repetitions by repeating “I’m Alive” again and again. I found many rhymes, that why this song sound cool, maybe. And obviously this lyric is consisting of 7 stanzas.

Nice song, isnt it? I love this song and the rhythm of this song! If ou want know more things about BECCA, here is her website: http://beccachan.com/

Dormitory Life

I think I mention this before that I am a student of Keio Academy of NY and also living in the dormitory. So I will tell you the dormitory life in Keio Academy.
There are two dorms in this school, North and South. All girls and 11th and 12th grade boys are living in North dorm, so I'm living in North Dorm. And North Dorm have 5 sections with 2 floors. Sections' names are: A, B, C, D, and E. There are no connection with the students' grades, so don't misunderstand!! I live in Section D of second floor, so they call it D2. My supervisor is Ms. Ishikawa, she is actually nicer than any other woman supervisors.
You will get "checks" when you break a rules of dormitory. If you get 5 checks during year in North Dorm, You have to get Penalty I. Penalty I is: You have to stay in your own room for one day without going any other dorm rooms, and one week that you cannot go outside of campus. Now I have 4 checks, so I have to be careful!!
But Dormitory is very fun, so little bit strict rules are important, maybe... to not to get any dormitory "check"s.

Juicy Couture

Last week, my friend and I went to shopping to the Westchester Mall. We were tired of walking, because we use half of day to shop, however we could not find what we want except something to eat. So we were not satisfy our shopping. And we found Juicy Couture, and we go inside without intention. My friend found a ring that fit on her, so she told me that she is going to get that ring. I thought I should get something, and at that time I found very cute cellphone accessory. Finally, we got something in Juicy. I know that Juicy is little bit expensive, but I love this brand.

Japanese Seiyu

Seiyu(声優) is a Japanese voice(声) actor(優) and work in radio, television, and movies. Seiyu, known as "voice actor" perform voice-overs for non-Japanese movies, provide narration, and also work as anime and video game character actors. Sometimes, seiyu sing song for their anime theme songs. In Japan, seiyu are very important because Japan produces many Animes. I like watching animes so I know many seiyu and I have favorites, too. Kugimiya Rie and Miyano Mamoru is my favorite seiyu, because they are acting many animes' voice. Rie's voice is very pretty, and sometimes her voice can be cool too! Mamoru's voice is very handsome or sexy, maybe. By the way, I want to be an seiyu future but not for my job. I want to be this just for fun. I know it's hard, but it sound fun!

Ali Project

Ali project is my favorite Japanese band, consisting of Arika Takarano (vocals & lyrics) and Mikiya Katakura (music & arrangement). I like how Arika sing like devil. She also create and sing many anime theme songs; for example, "The Forbidden Game", "Domain of the Holy Girl", and "Rose Jail Maiden" from anime "Rozen Maiden".
If you want to see more about this band group, go here ↓

CLANNAD

CLANNAD is one of my favorite animes that I've seen before. This is a visual novel, and actually it was computer game first. The title means "family" or "clan" in Irish. Creator of this game, software company Key is also created animes; for example, "Kanon" and "Air". But my favorite one is CLANNAD.
This anime is a story about people's family and any other relationship. You should watch this or you can read manga by the way.

Boys Lax

I'm now doing a manager of Boys Lacrosse Team. My school is pretty new and this year is the first year that admitted as a real "team". In the team, four 11th graders, four 10th graders and nine 9th graders are playing lacrosse. There are one 12th grader, but I don't know what happened to him, Anyway, they get better and better every day practices. I am hoping to win the next game, Keio NY versus Keio Hiyoshi from Japan.
Yesterday, we start practicing at 3:30. My school cafeteria close at 7:15, but we forgot about that and we finished practice at 7:15. So Coach Jon ordered Chinese food for us. Coach Jon told us that this is for us manager! I had great time there and I want to continue managing this hard work and fun team. I want thank Coach Jon and all team players.

Attention to ALL Keio NY students! Come to the Keio NY's first lacrosse game on March 18, 2009! Our team will beat Keio Hiyoshi so come and cheer us!

Sleep Over!

My friend Shiori came over to my dorm room. I am living in the dormitory for Keio Academy students, as I wrote before. But Shiori is not living in this dorm because she is now living near to our school, she is actually a commuter.
First thing we did was to bake cookies. As I wrote about this before in "Cookpad", in the dorm, there are no oven, so I have to use microwave oven instead. I think we did fine baking cookies, but some were burnt. It tasted like sold cookies, so we were satisfy. I upload the picture of cookies.
Another thing we did was to order Chinese food. We actually ordered with other 3 friend: Hitomi, Manami, and Momoe. We ordered Chinese rice, chicken, soup, etc. It was very good and we had great time talking and eating!
I want Shiori come over to my room again. One thing that I could not do was my homework...

Cookpad

Today I'm going to talk about cookpad, my favorite Japanese cooking recipe website that you can share your original recipe and try someone's original recipes and post the picture.
I am living in dormitory in Keio Academy of NY. I like to bake cake or cookies, but I was having hard time making those stuff in the dorm. Reason why is there are microwave oven in the dorm but oven.
One day my roommate, also like to cook things, and I were trying to bake cookie by using microwave oven instead of oven. My roommate was trying to find the way bake things by not using oven and finally we found this website. Some recipe said you just need microwave oven to bake cookies. We actually did great on this and after that, we cook things by microwave oven every weekends. And here is example of cookpad recipe URL: http://cookpad.com/recipe/693849
And if you want to see my original recipe, visit here: http://cookpad.com/kitchen/1224604
By the way, if you want to try my cookie, ask me. BUT I can not guarantee how it taste.

Nico Nico Douga

Nico Nico is a popular video-sharing website in Japan. This is one of my favorite website and I access this site once or twice a week. I don't have time to write about this so i will write about this after...

About my younger sis

I don't have any good topic, so I'm going to write about my younger sister. My sister is now 12 years old and also 6th grader. She is living in Las Vegas, where I was living before I came Keio NY. Her English skill is better than mine, because she came to U.S. when she was 8 years old, or 2nd grade. Her English pronunciation is like normal American kids and I am jealous of that. However, she is not good at Japanese, her native language. I used to teach Kanji, but she is still having hard time working on Japanese homework from Japanese Saturday School. I hope her Japanese skill get better and not going to loose her English skill.
